Pastor Stephen Kurtzahn was installed at St. John's and Immanuel in April 2013.
Pastor Steve was born in Minneapolis and lived in many different communities while growing up, like the Twin Cities, Fairbault and Kenyon, Minnesota; Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington.
He is a graduate of Northwestern Preparatory School and attended Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin. He graduated from Immanuel Lutheran College and Seminary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He is currently working on his Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degree at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Before moving to the Frontenac area, Pastor Kurtzahn served congregations in Hendersonville, North Carolina; Fairfax, Virginia; Richardson (Dallas) & Austin, Texas; Austin & Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
Pastor Steve is married to Sharon, and they are blessed with three adult children.
His favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 5:21, "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
